This is who we are

We believe that Legal English education and Legal translations should be accessible, straightforward, and enjoyable.

Our story

Lawyerly was started as the brainchild of founder, Tiffany Bayliss. As a Brit with law degrees from IE Business School, Spain and University of Law, London, she realised that lawyers were at a disadvantage when practicing law in a language that wasn’t their own.

After a stretch of working with agencies, she saw that firms were receiving General or Business English classes that fell short of what legal professionals truly needed – language and communication skills that were essential to working in international law firms.

Lawyerly was born out of necessity – a resource to reduce the commercial risk of non-native lawyers.

Through her years in the industry and her amassing of a network of lawyers and linguists that share her vision, Lawyerly was created to act as a form of insurance to bilingual firms. Offering classes, workshops, and translation services by a team of those that truly understand the disparities between jurisdictions and the common linguistic pitfalls that happen as a consequence.
